Palma de Mallorca

Palma is a seaside resort town and capital of the Spanish island of Majorca in the western Mediterranean. The imposing Cathedral of Santa Maria, a Gothic structure whose works began in the thirteenth century, dominates the city bay from above. The adjacent Almudaina is a Moorish-style Arab fortress converted into a royal residence. To the west of the city, on the top of a hill, the medieval Castle of Bellver has a characteristic circular shape.
