Garmisch

Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a ski resort in Bavaria, formed by the union of two cities in 1935. It is a popular destination for skiing and ice skating, as well as hiking. The city is located near the Zugspitze, the highest peak in Germany whose summit, at an altitude of 2,962 meters, can be reached by rack train and cable car. Garmisch is considered the most fashionable area, while the paved streets of Partenkirchen retain a traditional Bavarian atmosphere.
